A Pillar in the Temple

Charlie Lutes on questions of Spiritual Growth, the Word, and becoming a Pillar in the Temple.

Charlie was asked the question, “Can a person, a Guru, or a Teacher save someone else?”

Charlie answered, “One can only save themselves.” Teachers can only Guide and Charlie once told me, “It is only one person at a time that will crawl out of the well of forgetfulness.” He once lectured, “Like children, we must learn, and like children, we also come of age. Then and then only has destiny run its course down the halls of time, and we have at long last reached our destination. We have become a Pillar in the everlasting Temple and we will no longer go out (or reincarnate).”

Once one has crawled out of that “well of forgetfulness” they come to life from an Awakened Soul Consciousness and so one has the experience and Knowledge to help inspire others. Charlie did say that we could help to save another, in that we can guide, we can inspire, and then help them stand on their own two feet, and this is done on our part from love, and a desire from selfless service. Only when a person comes from an Awakened Consciousness will one have the spiritual Knowledge to help inspire others.

Another question Charlie was asked, “Can one person Meditate for another?”

Charlie answered, “It is up to them to Meditate for their own growth, purification, as no one can Meditate for another. We Grow for ourselves and others. We cannot Seek God for another. We can only inspire. Scriptures are an essential guide to the Soul on the do's and don't's of life and to give Wisdom, and a greater depth of Knowledge then opens due to our Meditation. This is because Meditation is an Infusion of Being, or the Holy Spirit, due to the Infusion of the Name of God and the Spiritual Power In the Name.”

When a person awakens to God, real Devotion then takes place.

In a 1986 in lecture Charlie told the audience, “As a human, we are a composite of both good and bad. In many cases, the bad far outweighs the good, and this makes for a hard life. The purpose of life is to improve ourselves as much as possible, and this is evolution. Evolution is ever so slow because many humans, until they are ready, always attempt to maintain the status quo. And the general attitude is to adjust to one's faults and go along through life making as few waves as possible. In this, one puts off the lessons and does not face life lessons and this causes weakness.”

This is when they step on the Path, seek Truth, are now interested in “doing the right thing”, in doing self-referral daily, and seeing their actions and changes for the better from coming from within. A commitment takes place as The Soul Awakens, one sees their actions in the past, now and Truth, seeing the pairs of opposites of this life and from love and realization, chooses to change, chooses Right Action and does the Will of God, perseveres… in Divine Law.

Charlie on Karma, Meditation, and “Being the Light”

Once at a lecture, when asked about meditation, karma, and Soul evolution, Charlie answered, “When we come into this life, much of our habit patterns are fully determined. The purpose of life is to change the bad habits as much as possible, and to project and build on our good habits. Meditation helps us with this.” As to why this seems to be easier for some than others Charlie gave an analogy from the Bible, the parable Jesus Christ gave on the scattering of seeds; ... some seeds fall on rocky soil, some fall on dry ground and do not grow, some get choked off by weeds or the devil comes and snatches them away, and some fall on good soil, and grow, even a hundred-fold. However, Charlie would encourage people when he would say that the Seed is the Mantra, the Word, the Name of God. It is then the Soul that is Initiated, (Immortal Soul) and we are Initiated only once -as this is when the Seed, as the Mantra, goes into the Soul. In Initiation, one is Sponsored before God.

As Maharishi said in 1961: “I connect you to the Powerhouse, to Source, to God”. Charlie further said, “... by free will we can, and do from time to time, alter our course of life.” Also, if one does not ‘Soul Awaken' this life, then in another succeeding life, the Soul will cause one to remember and the Mantra will Awaken in a dream, vision, or be cognized, as once given the Word, it never leaves one's Eternal Soul. Charlie would say, “When we finally understand ourselves, we will also understand the whole universe. Then, when we have gained full Enlightenment, we will have full knowledge of all universes; instead of being in the Light, we will Be Light.” Charlie would often end his lectures in Seattle by reminding an encouraging people to “... go out now, and Be the Lights.”

Charlie once said, “Through daily Meditation, Prayer, Devotion, self-referral and mastery over emotions, we become a Pillar in the Everlasting Temple... through love and recognition, perseverance, and effort, we will gain Cosmic Status and Higher Truth and no longer go out (Reincarnate), having learned Divine Love and Eternal Life.”
