Embracing Life by Eric Fremaux
At times in life we are in control, other times less so… ![]() ![]() Embracing Life We can fully embrace life and face depression. by Eric Fremaux November, 2023 Wherever life takes us, and however we might feel, we must have no doubt that it all has a purpose. The many states and feelings we experience give value, depth, and meaning to our own journey of discovering the harmony of creation, and that which is right for us, all in resonance with our own soul… as we are part of the Universe after all. At times, we are in control, other times we are less so, as we are bound or led to let go and enter the flow as we witness the magic that is existence in this world. This is part of truly being alive. This is how we then can fully embrace life. Our physical and emotional suffering needs to be acknowledged and respected. We should not try to ignore these hurts, but turn and face them because they are real. We need to be just be working in awareness, mindfulness, to let the hurts soften us, instead of allowing them to harden us. We can choose to let the hurt open us to greater empathy, instead of allowing it to close in on us. We then can then let the hurt send us seeking for those who will accept and encourage us, instead of hiding from those who reject us. What many people do not understand about depression is how much and how deeply it hurts. It is like your brain is convinced that it is dying and it's as if it produces a chemical, an acid, that eats away at you from the inside, until all remains is a scary hollowness of life. During this time, the mind gets overwhelmed and can fill with dark thoughts; it becomes convinced that our friends secretly hate us, that we are worthless, and this is followed at times by thoughts and feelings of no hope. During my depression, I never got so low as to even consider ending it all, but I now have a greater appreciation and understanding of how that can happen to some people, and so I have much greater empathy. Depression simply hurts too much. We must remember that our Spirit is mightier than anything. We are to Remember that we belong here. Remember, you are deeply loved... Remember, that this moment will pass too. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (NASB):For our momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. Remember, we are all worth being happy... Thus, we must seek to embrace life, embrace Love, and fully embrace something greater than ourselves, we embrace Creation and its very Source: the Almighty Creator.
